Medical Spa in Mount Pleasant, SC

I’m Julie Stewart, MD, originally from south Louisiana. I returned to school in my early thirties, while my oldest son started Kindergarten, and began my journey in medicine. After graduating from LSU Health Science Center, I moved to Charleston to complete my internship in General Surgery and my residency in Ophthalmology. Shortly after finishing my residency, I worked briefly with another ophthalmologist before launching my practice in Mt. Pleasant. My initial focus was cataract surgery and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery).

 

In 2023, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Undergoing intense chemotherapy and multiple surgeries led to peripheral neuropathy in my feet, which made continuing microsurgery impossible since operating pedals is essential for those procedures.

 

Life is an adventure filled with opportunities to pivot and redefine who we are and what we do. Having always been passionate about the aesthetic side of medicine, which I practiced extensively early in my career, I’m excited that Bare Skin Medical Spa represents my most fulfilling pivot yet.
